Regardless of whether you’re a blogger that has just started or one that has been in the game for a while now but wants to adopt a more professional approach, one of the most important tools that needs to be added (or updated) to your arsenal is a CV or media kit. The truth is, this part takes some time and effort, and that’s why it’s often neglected.

There are dozens of articles on the web that give you ideas on how to create a media kit for your blog, and while the truth is that it’s not such a complicated thing to do, it’s always nice to find new things that can make your life even easier. This is why when I discovered Fohr Card I was very pleased and didn’t give it a second thought before signing up.

Fohr Card, founded by James Nord and Rich Tong, is a relatively new platform that allows bloggers to showcase and build a portfolio as well as connect with over 60 brands and creative agencies in the fashion industry. As any creative blogger might already know, the process of finding new collaborations can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for both parts. Instead of dealing with multiple email chains and keeping  a record of every single person you’re in contact with, you can use Fohr Card to painlessly reach out to brands that have interesting projects and have every single message organized on your Inbox.

Another great thing about the platform (and one that I’m sure brands and agencies are infinitely thankful for) is that you’re also making their lives easier by letting them see right away the kind of projects you’ve worked on in the past, as well as a snapshot with relevant analytics such as page views and social media followers (which needless to say, is the kind of basic information that you would need to include were you planning on making a media kit). You can connect social accounts such as Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook, as well as your Google Analytics. This allows the platform to get all the information and condense it into a good looking and neatly organized summary without virtually no effort from your part (also, forget about having to constantly update your stats!)

Here’s a final recap so you leave this post with absolutely no doubt that joining this FREE community is a must-step in your path to professional blogging:

  • You can expect to find brands like Nautica, J. Crew, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, American Eagle, Kiehl’s, Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfiger, and many more.
  • Fohr Card makes it easier for you to pitch ideas to brands by using their Brand Directory.
  • They generate personalized and self-updating media kits for you.
  • In case you happen to close a deal with a brand through Fohr Card you will not have to pay a cut for it. The platform is completely FREE.
  • It takes literally less than 5 minutes to create an account.

You probably know by now that I often work with brands to promote products and services, and while I might receive compensation for it, I NEVER post about anything that I’m not 100% attracted to in a personal level. Well, this post is not one of those times. Fohr Card didn’t pay me anything to talk about them, I’m doing it because I genuinely believe in the power and benefits of the platform, and that’s why I want more fellow bloggers to learn about it and benefit to. I’m sure that if you sign up you will have the chance to see for yourself why am I so amazed by it.

Until the next time,
