Last week I had the chance to visit Mexico City for a few days and it turned out to be one of the best trips of my year so far. First of all I was able to attend concerts by Hozier and Sam Smith, which were beyond amazing. I also had the chance to work on a project that it’s not ready to be revealed yet, but I can tell you that it was a very satisfying experience and hopefully I’ll be able to tell you more about it very soon.
In addition to all these awesome things that made my trip quite special, the cherry on top was undoubtedly the opportunity to stay at La Valise hotel in la Roma, a spot considered to be one of the hippest places to stay in Mexico City right now.
Since I first arrived I was amazed by the impeccable design and comfort of my suite and the friendliness of its staff. I stayed at the master suite, called La Terraza, and it has absolutely everything you can ask for an enjoyable and problem-free stay. Colonia Roma is one of my favorite neighbourhoods in the city, because it’s easy to find something interesting in every street, from restaurants, shops, art galleries, etc. In addition to the luxurious experience that La Valise provides, its location has to be one of its best advantages.
As you can see from the photos, La Terraza suite is a spacious room with its own kitchenette, bathroom with shower and tub, a tastefully decorated living room, comfy bed and a terrace. One of the best things to do is take advantage of option to push the bed to the terrace so you can relax (or even wake up) and enjoy the sun and fresh air.
When I first checked in, I went into my room to find I was greeted with a small plate of Mexican candy, fruit and a shot of Mezcal. There was also a soothing song playing in the background (the suite is equipped with a music player where you can plug in your iPod or iPhone, play internet radio or even use Spotify). You can also watch Netflix on the flat screen, so you can say goodbye to the boring cable options most hotels have and catch up on your favorite TV show after a beautiful day exploring the city.
I left the hotel with a big smile on my face and wishing I could stay and live there. I’m 100% satisfied with my experience and I would highly recommend La Valise without hesitation. The combination of location, design, service and amenities make it a top notch experience for anyone visiting Mexico City, and if you’re still not convinced of how good it its, you can always check out other reviews on their TripAdvisor profile and see that I’m not the only person who fell in love with this chic little place.
Until next time,
